Cross-country skiing trails in the Brand valley
Cross-country skiing in the Brandnertal means experiencing sport and nature at its best. Whether classic or skating style, beginners or advanced, everyone gets their money’s worth. Experience cross-country skiing in its original form over more than 20 kilometers of trails in a glittering winter landscape.
Rona trails – Bürserberg
Created in 2015, these are new trails, situated on the sunny High Plateau of the Tschengla. Located at 1200m, you will have a breathtaking view of the surrounding five valleys. It’s no wonder that those in the know consider this area to be the cross-country paradise of the Western Alps.
The entrance to this circular route, can be reached from the Tschengla hiking park by a short walk. Due to the differences in gradient, the trail is classified as challenging.
The course leads past mystical stone circles to the village of Vilschena and back again. Please note: skating is possible on 80% of the route.
This route is recommended for beginners as the slopes are gentler. The start can be reached on foot from just above the Rona Alps or via the Olympia trail. Please note: skating is possible on 80% of the route.
This route is highly recommended due to its breathtaking views over the surrounding mountains. It is only a few minutes walk to the start of the trail from the Tschengla car park. Please note: skating is possible on 80% of the route.
Village trail – Brand
Difficulty: easy to medium
This very beautiful cross-country skiing trail takes you from its starting point near the riding arena of the Sporthotel Beck, along the Alvier stream, towards the Herz-Jesu Chapel in the Innertal part of the village. Enjoy the undisturbed rushing of the stream from slightly higher up and the from the Herz-Jesu Chapel you can go back down towards the valley on the opposite side of the stream. You can reach the cross-country ski trail in several places. Please note: skating is possible on 80% of the route.
